8 months of freshness

From the first day of university (during frosh week) until the last day, the day I packed up and left uni, 2 days after my last exam, I drew something on these taped-together pieces of paper. Every day, for 2 whole semesters.

This covers my life in first year of university. Even when I was away from my dorm room (aka home/holidays/roommate with swine flu) I would jot something down. Like those people who take a photo every day (*cough~ItoshiiStefficough*), yet completely unlike that. It didn't have to do with my day, tho it often did. Whatever stuck to my mind most for the day would go up on the page, usually. There is no rhyme nor reason to the way they went up. I'd just find a blank spot and draw on it.

I look back to this (which now hangs on the back of my pad's bedroom door) and I don't even know what's going on. Most of the time, I can, but I can't tell you the exact time. I can, however, remember the warm feelings of university, and probably distinct conversation topics in the shower. I can pinpoint my distinct lack of sleep, as per usual. There are goodbyes to roommates, money, beloved high school librarians, sanity and innocence. There are hellos, first experiences, odd happenings and everything else one can think of, all documented on a strip of 8 pieces of 8.5x11.

I'm going to make more of these types of things... my ongoing not-in-school art project.
